Make the Road New York: Maria has been a victim of landlord harassment and discrimination since 2008 all in attempts to drive her family out of her Brooklyn apartment. Maria organized with her community and became a leader in Make the Road New York's tenant committee BASTA. She has succeeded in remaining home through legal help provided by MRNY; however, Maria’s neighbors have all left. This is the same story across Brooklyn and other diverse neighborhoods. We must stand with New York tenants & eliminate the 'eviction bonus.'
